
On 17.04.2026, an Information Day was held for enrolled doctoral students under the project „Interdisciplinary training for the development of knowledge and competencies of doctoral students in professional fields 4.6 „Informatics and Computer Science“, 5.1 „Mechanical Engineering“, 5.4 „Energy“, 5.5 „Transport, Shipping and Aviation“ and 5.13 „General Engineering“ in the field of modern research in mechatronics and clean technologies“ at the Technical University – Sofia, briefly (INPROTECH).
This meeting is not only informational but also aims to provide practical guidance and clear steps in support of the actual research activity related to the development of dissertations.
The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Rosen Radoнов - Deputy Rector for e-governance and coordination, who wished success in the development of dissertations dedicated to the requirements of the project and reflecting the most modern and global requirements related to Industry 4.0 and 5.0.
Prof. Yordanka Angelova, as the project leader, welcomed the participants and conveyed the following message to them: „You are not just regular doctoral students at the respective faculties – you are researchers who have taken on the responsibility to bring your scientific work to a successful conclusion. The most significant result of your participation in this project is the successful defense of your dissertation, and this is counted in the project as an indicator“.
She also emphasized: "We rely on your serious commitment and professionalism to successfully implement this significant project, funded under the "Education" Programme 2021–2027 through the procedure "Support for the development of a project-based doctoral program". Within the Technical University – Sofia, this is the largest project of its kind, uniting 20 full-time doctoral students from five professional fields and six faculties – EMF, MF, SF, TF, FIT, and FPMI, as well as three doctoral students from our partner – Technical University – Gabrovo".
The information day continued with presentations by Assoc. Prof. Boryana Ilieva, Director of the Doctoral School within the project on the topic: "From idea to defense: academic writing and dissertation requirements", as well as information on the upcoming mobility of doctoral students and their scientific supervisors, included in the INPROTECH activities.
The doctoral students visited the Center for Excellence /CE/ at TU-Sofia and familiarized themselves with the opportunities for access to modern infrastructure and equipment, where they will have the chance to experiment with their scientific research.
